So, I was mocking Jeff for writing about everything that happens in his life. I mean, dutch ovens, seriously?
Then, I realized that I have this mind set. I have been thinking that in order to post something on the blog, it must be something huge that happened, some really profound thought, or at least have a cute picture. Then, I had an epiphany. (Yeah, I'm just using that word so that I sound smart like Jeff and CJ.) I don't have to write earth shattering things. Frankly, it doesn't even really matter if anyone cares or is remotely interested. Life is not made up of huge events. My life is a series of little things that happen everyday. Those are the things that make me who I am. So, boring thought out of the way, here is my little thing for today.
We went to the park for lunch. Neat, huh? It actually kinda was. We are off of TV for the week (everyone was getting a little addicted!), and I was tired of entertaining the kids at home (Did I mention that we started today, and I'm already tired!), so we went to the park. We walked down, each of the kids carrying their lunch box. We ate lunch, played at the park, almost melted because it's WARM, and were about to go home. Robbie was looking at the pond, and noticed that there was a turtle on the side in the sun. So, we decided to go and look at it. We hiked over (and I use the work "hike" lightly) and watched it swim around. It wasn't anything spectacular or awe inspiring. In fact, I was a little bored. But then, I realized how spectacular and awe inspiring it was to the kids. They are still fascinated by turtles swimming. I think maybe that's why we have kids. They help remind us jaded adults how spectacular and awe inspiring the simple things in life are. Pretty cool.
So, the end of this long ramble is that I will no longer mock Jeff for writing about Dutch Ovens (seriously, what?) and I will try to write more of the little things that happen. All right, enough said!
