Kelsey Elizabeth Gee

I'm sure everyone has read the Van Family blog, and already knows that Kelsey is finally here!  If not, SHE'S HERE!  WOO HOO!  For those who haven't read the blog (seriously, is there anyone who doesn't read it too?), she was born on Monday, November 27th, 2006 at 5:55 p.m.  She weighed 7 lbs. 9 oz. and was 20 inches long.  She has a LOT of dark hair, probably more than any of our other kids.  Oh, and she's adorable!  Mom has already posted a million pictures, so I won't bore you with more, but here's one she doesn't have.  This is Jon in the operating room right after Kelsey was born.  [photopress:Kelsey_Elizabeth_Gee_005.jpg,full,centered] We got to come home from the hospital today, and we have really enjoyed being home.  Jon just remarked to me that babies look cuter when they are at home.  I think it's just because they can wear their own clothes and not the nondescript, scratchy hospital clothes.  Jon is running to the store to get something really quick, so I thought I would just post and let everyone know how we are doing. The kids are all doing wonderfully!  They really like Kelsey.  Adam was the first to really see her, and at the beginning, he was not sure what to think of her.  He actually kind of hid from her!  By the second time he saw her though, he had decided he was okay.  The first time Robbie saw Kelsey, he walked by her, stopped and looked, and then plopped down to watch TV.  That's pretty typical Robbie.  He really actually likes her though.  He's just sneaky about it.  After dinner tonight, Robbie disappeared, and I went into my room to find him lying on the bed staring at Kelsey in her bassinet.  She was awake, and they were just looking at each other!  It was cute.  Of course, the most overtly excited is Emily.  I think she may be more excited than everyone else combined.  I'm going to have to watch and make sure she doesn't smother Kelsey with "love" and "help."  Here's an adorable picture of her and Kelsey.  [photopress:Kelsey_Elizabeth_Gee_016.jpg,full,centered] As for me, I am doing fine.  My sweet husband is taking excellent care of me.  And by excellent care, I mean he glares at me any time I move!  He just knows how stubborn I am, and he wants me to get better.  He is such an amazing husband and father.  We are extremely lucky to have him!  So, all you moms out there, don't worry.  I am in good hands!  That's about it!  I'll post a few more pictures at a later time when we are not so tired!  We love you all and appreciate everything that you have done for us!  Thanks a bunch!
