Rewind? Yes Please!

Jon here... I know not many of you out there have DVR (Dish Network) or TiVO (DirecTV), but I just want to tell you all about how it has changed my life. I had only heard of such a thing six short months ago. I had heard praise of its wonders and magical abilities. The ability being to pause live tv, rewind live tv, record programs digitally, etc. It always sounded amazing, but yet I did not view it as a necessity or even necessarily a want. But, when we signed up six months ago, it was only an additional $5 a month. Now...I'm addicted to it. Not necessarily watching tv, but just the ability to CONTROL it! During the NBA playoffs...amazing!!! Finally being able to digitally record edited movies...amazing!!! But the feature that I love the most is being able to rewind tv and then just "catch-up" to live tv during the commercial breaks. But not only has this rewind feature affected my short tv watching time, but it has also TRIED to come over into everyday life, namely just listening to the radio. I listen to sports talk radio. I also have a remote for my car stereo (sounds really lazy, but it's a wonderful tool!). I find myself numerous times a day almost attempting to rewind the radio so I can hear what they said again or pause it so that I can come back to the radio show later. I'm sure that they will create this technology soon, I would guess. But, I just thought that I would inform everybody of my addiction to my DVR. All hail the DVR! (Again, I'm not addicted to watching tv. It really only happens after the kids go to bed. But I'm addicted to the control I have over it when I watch it. Kind of scary!) Enjoy!
