General Conference - Gee Style!

Jon here... I know, I know...this hasn't happened in probably a year. And within that year, the posts have been about the Mavericks. I know, I'm horrible. But, I want to communicate more with family and friends. There's no reason that I shouldn't do that. What a wonderful time this past weekend was! I treasure the time that I get to spend with my wonderful wife and amazing children. They blow me away...literally! There are many things that I enjoy about the weekend. First, I love listening to the words of the Lord's anointed servants. It's as if they are speaking to me individually. That's a good feeling. It helps me focus for the next 6 months and put priority in my life where it should be. Next, I love getting our children excited about it. They really enjoy doing the booklets and they are learning their names. Emily prayed for the First Presidency by name the other night...all three of them! How proud I was of that. We set up a tent in the gameroom just like King Benjamin's people did in Mosiah 2. We made sure that the tent door was facing the TV. We did a Family Home Morning on Sunday teaching the kids of why we did it. They loved it! Thanks for the good example Jeff and Debbi! Lastly, I love sitting next to my wife and, at times, looking over to see tears in her eyes. It makes me wonder why I don't have tears in my eyes! Anyways, I love Conference weekend.
