Allie

I just got home from Mom and Dad's house.  Always an adventure.  Never more so than when the carpet people AND the roof people AND the grandkids plus one are there.  Since there were so many people inside, we had lunch outside.  The kids ate their lunch, and then the kids started playing with Allie (my parents dog for those of you who don't know).

Frankly, I thought that was a recipe for disaster.  Everytime I go in the backyard with Allie, she practically knocks me over running around, or I'm afraid I'm going to lose my leg.  So, the boys were throwing sticks and she was chasing them.  Then Allie would proceed to bring the stick back to whomever threw it, and a several minute wrestle to get the stick out of her mouth would ensue.  So, when Adam went to get the stick from Allie, I got a little nervous, envisioning dog bites and rabies shots.  Then, the most amazing thing happened.  Instead of holding on to the stick for dear life, Allie actually let Adam have it.  Mom then informed me that Allie plays nicer with Adam.  How strange is that?!?  Most of you probably think along the same lines as I do - that Allie is pretty close to the most obnoxious dog ever (in a good way!).  And yet this same dog could tell the difference between my big almost six-year old, and my little two-year old.  Weird.  I think this could be why I'm a dog person, and not a cat person.  And I'm totally gonna blame it on being pregnant, but I got a little teary eyed thinking of Allie taking care of my baby.  Yeah, you're all sniffly too, I can tell!

Anyway, nothing earth shattering.  Just interesting.  That's all for now!  Try and be normal (that was directed to my family . . . especially Jeff!).
