Today in Primay, one little boy gave a talk on prayer. In his talk, he told a story of a little pioneer girl who didn't have any shoes for the journey west. The little girl prayed, and found a pair of shoes by a bush. The shoes didn't belong to anyone, and her prayer was answered.
We have been working on school shopping for Robbie, and we have told him that he is getting a new pair of shoes. After Primary today, Robbie came up and informed me that if he didn't get any new shoes for school, he would pray and Heavenly Father would get him shoes. I smiled! (And then made Jon come and listen to his son's idea!) Of course, on the way home, I explained that Heavenly Father helps us when we can't do something ourselves, and that we had enough money to buy shoes. So we would just buy the shoes ourselves. To which, Robbie looked at me and said "I'd rather pray for them." What great faith! I guess that's why we're supposed to be like children!
