Tantrum

Emily and Adam were fighting in the car while we waited to pick up Robbie.  I told them if they continued to fight, they would have to sit in their carseats.  They continued to fight.  I told them to sit in their carseats.  Emily begged for "one more chance", which is vintage Em.  I gave them one more chance.  Two minutes later, they were fighting again, so it was off to the carseats.  Emily begged for "one more chance."  I said no, because she'd already had one more chance.  Thus began the tantrum.  It has lasted almost 50 minutes now, with non-stop crying and repeating "one more chance, please Mom" over and over and over . . .  We got home from school.  I carried her up to her bed, where the crying and repeating continued.  Interspersed with the begging have been threats.  Namely, "I'm going to keep crying until you give me one more chance."  A few minutes ago, she said "Please Mom, I can't cry any more."  I also just heard "Mom, you're making my tummy hurt cause you're making me cry."  At this point, it's more humorous than aggravating.  I can't give in, because then she wins.  But I can't get her to calm down either.   Ah, motherhood is never dull!  (And at least I'm laughing about it instead of fuming!)
