BNSF Family Day 2009

If you've read my blog for any length of time, you know that every September, Jon's work holds an annual Family Day extravaganza. They have food - the same EVERY year - hot dogs, hamburgers, veggies & dip and chips. They have drink stations all over the place and an entire ice cream tent. There are bounce houses, a climbing wall, a trackless train (which hasn't been running the last two years!), arts & crafts, a whole tent of model trains, a stage with entertainment, bungee jump trampolines & a place where the kids can operate some of the railway equipment. Oh, and did I mention it's all FREE?!? It is a fantastic event and one of the reasons why we love Jon's employer.

Here are a few pics of our fun this year! First up, the kids controlling the railway equipment. I love the outfits - hey, they have to look official!

Then, Emily wanted to try the climbing wall. I had my doubts that she was big enough, but she made it all the way to the top. What a monkey!

All 3 kids did the bungee jump thing.

And played on the inflatable toys.

And ate dinner.

And looked at the model trains.

And when all that got boring, the kids started jogging on the running track!

We're glad Family Day is recession proof! Thanks BNSF!

How fun! My grandpa worked for UP Railroad in Vegas when I was a kid, so I remember going to family days like those...but of course, yours looks so much cooler!

Wow, that looks like a TON of fun! Way to go to Emily for going all the way up the climbing wall! I can't believe the kids had enough energy to run laps after all that other stuff - when, oh when, are they going to figure out how to bottle that energy up and sell it? (;
