Monday Blahs

So, I haven't posted in a week - mostly because nothing blog-worthy has really happened. It's just been normal stuff. School, preschool, Cub Scouts, gymnastics, church stuff, grocery shopping. The weird thing is that I love the "Blah" times in my life way better than the totally crazy ones. So, here's a few of the non-earth-shattering things that have been going on/I've been thinking about.

*My Grandma sent the girls matching dresses a few weeks ago. She's awesome like that. She even sends all the new Disney movies. My kids love it when a package comes from Great-Grandma. Don't they look cute?

*Easter is on Sunday. Is it early or something this year? I am completely not ready. Every year I insist on buying my kids Easter clothes. And not only do I have to buy Easter clothes, they have to match - just to make it harder. This year I thought I'd let Emily pick out her own dress - she is 7, after all. Now, I'm trying to match a totally cute black and white dress. That means black suits for the boys, black ties, new black shoes for Robbie and a black and white dress for Kelsey (That's harder than it sounds - they don't make many black and white dresses for Easter!). At least Jon didn't roll his eyes too much when I told him.

*I'm sick. I hate being sick. And it's not the kind of sick you have to stay in bed for. It's the kind where you can push through it, even though you feel crappy. Bleh.

*I'm totally loving the allowance thing with the kids. This week at school is the Book Fair. Now, I love my kids getting new books, but I HATE paying for them. But, now my kids earn money! So, I informed them if they wanted some books they had to pay for them. Robbie's been plotting ways to earn extra money. Awesome!

*Kelsey is going through a skirt phase. She will not wear pants or shorts. It must be a skirt. A couple of weeks ago, I had to actually go and buy more skirts as we did not have enough for an entire week. She does look awfully cute though!

So, Happy Monday! Hope your day isn't blah!

Sarah went through a skirt phase. I didn't buy new skirts though, I just sewed a long ruffle of material arond the waste of all her old shorts and made scooters.

You might want to try childrens place for a black dress for Kelsey. I think they have one- check their website first. They also have black button down shirts for the boys and cute pink ties and argle black and pink sweaters. I almost bought them for my boys but Callie went with an orange colored outfit so I got orange sweater vests for the boys to match. Now I just need to find me something orange!

I love the yellow dresses! It's so cute when they match. Good luck with black dresses :). Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well - get better!
I love the allowance money for the book orders... hmmm, I'll have to think about that. Talmage came home with more today and circled 18 things (I think) and I don't know when he will understand he's not getting them all (or any). Oh fun times. Thanks for the monday update and sometimes it's better to be blah, then busy and stressed out!

The girls all look adorable in their yellow dresses! Good luck finding Easter clothes that match . . . I think I would have gotten MUCH more into the new clothes for Easter thing if I'd had any girls! (Those dresses that have fluffy skirts and matching hats and purses and all . . . can't resist!!!)

I'm sorry you were feeling yucky yesterday, and I'm glad you're feeling a little better today! How's Adam doing?
