Drive-in Movie

I am totally a copy cat. I admit it freely. Some of my best ideas are actually stolen from others. This is one of those that I tweaked to work for us. [Thanks Shauntae!]

As summer wound down, the kids were getting more and more antsy. So, I was looking for a way to keep them entertained. Since the free movies had ended, we decided to have a drive in movie - in our game room. As I got everything ready, I sent the kids upstairs to make a "car" to watch the movie in. Emily's was my favorite - notice the wheels and the steering wheel taped to the outside!

Then I gave each kid $10 in monopoly money.

We set up a snack/lunch table and each kid used their money to buy whatever they wanted.

And then we watched the movie! The kids had a blast and it was a great time filler for a slow summer day!

This is way stinking fun. But I am worried that you made the signs so cutsie for this activity. You rock sis.

Oh my stars - that is ADORABLE! I'm totally stealing the idea now (but I don't have the "magic" touch, so it won't look so cute). Did you have any kid try to spend all $10 on candy? (:

What a cool idea! I'll need to have more kids to make our drive-in more cost effective.

Jon, you AND the kids are so lucky to have Aubrey.

Aubrey, thanks for raising the motherhood bar...AGAIN!!!
