I'm tired. I know that's probably a shocker to anyone who has ever had a newborn. I don't get a lot of sleep. Another shocker. Well, last night, Jon (my very sweet, supportive, wonderful husband!) told me he would stay up with Kelsey so that I could sleep. He was even going to do the middle of the night feeding. What, a whole night of sleep just for me?!? I haven't had that in almost 7 weeks! I was so excited! At 11:00, I sent Jon upstairs with Kelsey, who was still stirring, although she was asleep. And I went to bed, and didn't wake up until 6:30 this morning! Do you have any idea how good 7 1/2 hours of sleep feels? I have so much energy! It's amazing!
The best part of this story isn't that I got to sleep, although that was wonderful. The best part is that when I woke up this morning, I thanked Jon for taking care of Kelsey for me. He then looked at me panicked, and said "What? You didn't get up with Kelsey?" It turns out Kelsey slept through the night! Jon had put her to bed at 11:40, and she didn't wake up until 6:45. And she hadn't eaten since 9:00! So, it was a doubly wonderful night. We don't plan on it lasting, but we're grateful for the night we got! Thanks Kelsey!
