Take Me Out to the Ballgame

Heeeelllloooo everybody!  Has anyone missed me?  Do you wonder where I've been?  It's that magical time of year where we eat dinner at 4:30, where I spend A LOT of time in the car and sitting in a camping chair, where I get frustrated with people (mostly stupid ones), where I get my nice tan, and when I have no free Saturdays.  BASEBALL SEASON!  Woo hoo!  Can you feel the excitement?  Yeah, me neither.  Both of our boys are playing baseball this year.  And it is the biggest time sucking thing that I have.  Robbie is on the Rangers and has a practice or a game 5 times a week.  Adam is on the Dodgers and has one practice and one game.  It's a lot of fun.  Really.  But the boys love it, so I don't complain.  Well, not too much anyway.  First, we had a parade to kick off the season.  Robbie had an AWESOME float (which he should have considering how much money the parents had to chip in!), and Adam's float - well, it didn't cost any money!

The kids had their first games last week.  Robbie team did not do so well, but he had fun!  Adam is playing t-ball, and so it doesn't really matter if they do well.  It's actually a lot of fun because there is no yelling (something that would be really nice for Robbie's team to learn) and everyone helps all the kids, regardless of which team you are on.  I did not get any pictures of Adam's first game because I forgot the camera.  Hey, I got the kids!  But here's a few of Robbie's first game.

Last night Robbie had a game, and he got the game ball for hitting a home run.  And by home run, I mean he hit a dinky grounder to third which the other team overthrew at first, and at second, and again at third, so he got all the way home.  Oh, and he didn't actually step on 3rd base.  But at that point we were losing 15 - 0, so it didn't really matter.  He was ecstatic to get a 3-run homer, and his teammates were SO excited.  Oh, to be a kid again!  So, if you don't see me much in the next 2 months, I'm sorry.  Just know that the baseball season has taken over my life!
